Codici is the Italian word for codes. The word, in many ways, is descriptive
of the contemporary calligraphy research that places emphasis on the
visual rather than the verbal message. Texts are generally difficult, or
seemingly impossible, to read, making "legibility" in the context of
traditional calligraphy or typography a perplexing and controversial issue.
Such works, like codes, hold messages. But what are the messages?
Can they be discovered or deciphered, or only felt?
